A number of pharma companies have agreed to share Alzheimer's disease data from a number of failed clinical trials. Eleven trials thus far have been unsuccessful, including clinical trials from Sanofi-Aventis, Abbot, GSK, and Johnson & Johnson. Researchers are hoping that sharing the information will result in more efficacious, efficient, and cost-effective drug development.
